More Than Just Stamps—A Full-On Adventure

Illustrating these stamps is about capturing the essence of each town. That means a lot of brainstorming, sketching, and (the best part) road-tripping across the island!

Sometimes, we illustrate a town before setting foot in it, relying on research, photos, and local stories to bring it to life. But one of the most exciting parts of this journey has been visiting the places after they’ve been illustrated. Seeing the stamps side by side with the real-life locations is surreal—it makes us appreciate the details even more and, in some cases, even rethink how we see a place.

Some of the biggest challenges? Deciding what to feature for each town. Do we highlight its historical landmarks, natural wonders, or cultural traditions? Each place has so many stories to tell, but that’s what makes this process exciting. We want every stamp to feel like a tiny time capsule—something that, when you look at it, instantly transports you there.

Adjusting Our Timeline—But Not Our Passion

Originally, we aimed to complete all 78 stamps by December 2024, but life had other plans. This project turned out to be even bigger and more detailed than we imagined, and we want to make sure every stamp is crafted with the love and attention it deserves. So, we’ve set a new goal: December 2025.

That extra time means more room for creativity, exploration, and making sure each town gets the spotlight it deserves. Kenneth Castro, our talented illustrator (and Puro Paradise’s creative director), is still bringing each one to life, making sure they are as unique and detailed as the places they represent.

What’s Next?

With 34 stamps left to go, the adventure continues! We’re excited to explore new towns, dig into their hidden gems, and keep adding to this growing collection. Whether you’ve been following along since the start or are just discovering the Fuimonos project, we’re so grateful to have you on this journey with us.

Stay tuned for more updates, behind-the-scenes peeks, and of course, new stamps coming soon!
